Help, can't enter Klamath

Hi everybody. I am in need of help in Fallout 2. I just started playing it again (after years) using the 1.02 patch. Everything works fine (Windows XP Sp2) until I am done in Aroyo and proceed to Klamath. Once there the game ignores my hitting of the Town/World button and does nothing. When I go back to Aroyo it works fine. Am I overlooking something or what, I have no clue, but any help would be appreciated as I am officially stuck (in the very beginning no less).

The first time you enter a town you have to click the green triangle, since you have no entry points on the town map yet.

Thanks a lot. How that escaped me is anyone's guess, I suppose its been too long that I didn't play it indeed ..
