Help Fallout Tactics on Vista *Fixed solutions posted*

Hi I am trying to install Fallout Tactics but am hitting a wall.

OS Vista Ultimate
Q6600
3gig RAM
Zotac 9800 gtx plus
driver 182.06 whql

I install all three discs then have installed patch v127 from there I have tried 3 different no cd cracks and all fail stating file is write protected, wrong version or DEP. I have since turned of UAC and re booted but all no cd cracks I have (serenity, BOS 127_NO CD, Fot 127 NO CD) all fail. I will uninstall the entire game again for another run at it. If anyone has gotten this game to run on Vista could you please give any advice. The closest I had to a successful install had the screen flickering black and white, needless to say this was unbearable. I have tried changing the compatibility version to 98 but as of yet no love.

I finally got the no cd key patched. though the game still wont run. (seems a fresh install with UAC off did the trick)

If i run from BOS.exe I get a white window and a error message -

C:\dev\phoenix\display\directx7\dd7_display.cpp(1661): **fatal error** : Failed to creat primaryBlit sufaces

after closing this message I get a runtime error.


If I run from FalloutTacticsLauncher I get a prompt to install directx8

against my better judgement I tried this with no difference though I didnt expect any.

so thats where I'm at now.

Any help would be awesome..

I finally have it working.. If anyone comes across the same problems I did, the solution was not clear but these things are what made the difference, though you may have to try individually these things for yourself to have success,

I patched up to v127,

I run my compatibility in XP service pack 2 mode,

I click run as administrator,

I turned UAC off and rebooted,

I run from the desktop Icon placed from install,

I used the Serenity NO CD patcher,

I have some processing lag that I havent as yet gotten smooth as I would like but otherwise the game runs very well.

I need some help over here..

I have some processing lag that I haven't as yet gotten smooth as I would like but otherwise the game runs very well.

my game is installed and runs properly for 2 minutes after that game starts to slow down. I tried to run it in compability mode (all modes) and there is still the same problem.. I have powerful machine(due to F3;but Fo:T is still my favourite game) OS vista ... GF 9650mGT I think this card causes the problem, but there must be a proper solution. I'm searching through the internet and there is nobody with my sort of problem... AM I ALONE WASTELANDERS? Can someone help me?

Checked and failed::::
shortcut + '-windowed' doesn't work
fps limiter doesn't work
NvIDIA control panel cannot help me
compability settings - change nothing!

I need more tactics!!!! aghr
