Help me find the name of this old Adventure game...

ADV

First time out of the vault
I remember playing an old point and click adventure game (the demo) that was very promising, but I can't for the life of me remember the name of it.

I remember the first cut scene was a guy walking around in a snow/stormy area (hes like a james bond character). After a while a giant 4 wheel truck like vehicle (about the size or bigger than those huge trucks you see at quarry's - you know the ones that can squash a car with one tyre) rolls past. Of course he gets onto it somehow (grappling hook maybe?).

The game then starts with the character moving about inside the 'moving building' (same deal as siberia or the longest journey 1). Lots of pipes everywhere, everything moving and a puzzle where he had to talk to a robot or at least get one working.

thats it, thats all I can remember!

so uh, anyone have the foggiest idea?

Nope, but try typing in that explanation into google and hope for the best!

I've played/finished beneath a steel sky.

The game im thinking of came out much later than B.A.S.T

thanks anyway!

One other idea is to check with Adventure Gamers. If you can't think of any information that would allow you to find the game, you could inquire about it on their forums.

If you haven't done so yet, try posting this over at the Home Of The Underdogs forum. They get questions like these all the time, and are surprisingly good at finding the right game.

I don't think Google can handle such queries well ;)

Damn, no wonder I can't find stuff about this game!!

[/ontopic] B.A.S.T was a good game for it's time, but now, it's... meh...

All the best for finding this one, looks like people are stumped with this one...

Go to the wiki category for adventure games, and read the articles on the games you don't recognize on the list.
The descriptipons and screenies should tell you if it's the game you're looking for.

Even better go to Moby Games, you can sort through games by year and genre pretty quickly.

FINALLY!

the game is 'in cold blood'.

it's a shame its a pansy of a game. oh well.
