help on fallout 2 DAT explorer...

First of all if you're starting your first game don't use any guides. They will ruin the game experience (I know something about this). You can get the patch allowing you to get the HHG here. Or you can download my 1.05 patch here which already have Per's modifications included. Oh and don't forget to get this also.
And about using DAT explorer. It's not that difficult. Run it and select the file (master.dat for an example) you want to extract and then extract all to... well, to extract all files,
or select single file(s) and use extract selected files option. The file to change to get the HHG is called worldmap.txt and is located in the \data folder. If you want to build your own .dat files be sure to read this also.

If you want to build your own .dat files be sure to read this also.btw... it is not my 1st game... i play it before... didn't have time to complete it... last place i went was the vault city after that did not go further coz my pc got file corruption n have to reformat, so stop half way... i manage to complete the FOT game which i llike the most where i can control all units... 1 thing i want to know is wat the f2patch1.05update1 does

This is exactly the update that Per suggests in his guide that is in the 1.05. The Update 1 needs to be installed over the 1.05 version. Is that clear?
