Help please

When you are trying to disarm the alarms (little horns), I have been going to them and left clicking on them. Sometimes it says "broke alarm" sometimes it says "does nothing". How do you break the alarms? what am i doing differently, do you use a skill or something?

If it says "does nothing", then that alarm has already been sounded, no use doing anything to it, if it says broke alarm, it just means that whoever comes up next trying to use it will have no effect

generally I find alarm quite useless anyway, as I can go solo with my main char with normal difficulty from level 1 to halfway through robot level.. (gifted and fast shot, tag 3 weapons, 10 for Perc, Int and Agil)
