Help with a glitch?

First time out of the vault
I'm running Fallout 1.1 on WinXP (Dell) I've got a Pentium 4. 2.8 GHz Processor and like 780 MB of RAM. The glitch is that Parts of the screen totally turn black during gameplay (especially combat mode)

I have the Humongus Installation and no programs running in the background.

Any Help?
 
So I'm pretty much screwed?

P.S. Sorry for posting in the wrong forum. I was looking at stickies, but in the wrong place :P

If you already tried disabling hardware acceleration, video card etc., that may be the case.

Until you read the stickies, we can't bloody well tell!
 
I get blackouts too. Disabling hardware acceleration, or even disabling your video card, can solve the problem. Also, you can get rid of the blackouts by pressing either C or P to open up a full-screen menu that clears the blackouts.
