Help with the FIC (fallout item changer)

First time out of the vault
I finished fallout 1 and decided to play it again but this time to change some wepon and armor. I downloaded the FIC and changed couple of them but the changes didn't got in the game.
How do I add the changed item into the game?
 
Make sure the pro files are set to read-only.
And you should try f2wedit, it's easy to use and can take care some detail works for you.
