First time out of the vault
The background music doesn't play anymore when I go to places in Fallout 2. Is there any way on fixing this?

There's no music in the game

Open your config file and make sure the music path entry points to the right folder. It should look something like this (for Fallout 2):
music_path1=C:\Program Files\BlackIsle\Fallout2\data\sound\music\
If you have Vista then look in this thread.

actually, setting the directory to

music_path1=\data\sound\music\

is sufficient. This actually works out better if you need to move the fallout directory for any reason, since you wont have to change the directory everytime you move it. The original will tell it to always go to the same directory to look for the music files. The one I have will tell to always go look for it in the directory whereever the fallout.exe is located.

Okay I tried both of those two suggestions, and didn't work. However I did notice this looking through the music file.

It seems like there's some missing even though I just installed the Fallout collection today. :?

If it is the fallout 2 directory you are looking at, then it's normal, the missing files are the music files that were used in Fallout 1 and subsequently were not used in Fallout 2.

Also, did you happen to have music volume turned down?

No the music volume was not turned down.

Okay the sound in the U.S version of the Fallout Collection doesn't work at all for me. Originally I had the U.K version of the Fallout collection. Would this affect the U.S version at all? I did make sure that all of the U.K version's files are all gone.
