Heres an Idea

How about including more areas to explore how about a couple more states say Nevada and New Mexico add more vaults that you can explore maybe one or two that has not opened yet.

And what about an RV like the car but it decreases the time needed to sleep to heal your self.

That's not exactly an idea, that's basically what they have to do to make Fallout 3, add new places to explore. I wouldn't mind seeing the game move east though, i guess that would be towards Nevada.

But not more vaults as such, rather new and interesting ones. Quantity over quality here, that goes for more locations as well. It's not hard to make a town and stuff it with "fetch this, fetch that, kill those" quests, it takes effort to make it interesting. Towns should, with very few exceptions if any, have a purpose and be interesting to visit, not just be there so you can add 5 hours to the "gameplay time" on the back of the box.

>And what about an RV like the car but it decreases the time needed to sleep to heal your self.

First of all, the idea of an RV... No.

Second, it'd render the trait Fast Metabolism useless, along with one of Endurance's pros. And that stat has few enough pros as it is.

Consider how the car's trunk in FO2 made carry weight utterly useless including the two perks associated with this stat. What's next, Ring of Strength +1, or Gauntlets of Agility :)

... and then we have RV raiders, who happen to be a subculture of grey haired old folk rejects from some retirement community from Arizona?

No, this RV idea is not a good one.

The film Damnation Ally might be centered around a futuristic military RV going from a post apocalyptic West to Albany, NY (although why no one thought not nuking Albany was a good idea made so sense), I can't RV's being taken seriously since Stripes. Besides Damnation Ally couldn't really be taken seriously- wasn't it George Peppard and Jan Michael Vincent?

(well it did have some interestin insects)

The idea of expansion, when I look at the map of FO2 it seems that the world has become a bigger place than just California. It seems the game is moving into Nevada and north into Oregon. New Vaults and unopened Vaults might have some continued play, but maybe the Vault experience is getting a bit old. I'd be more curious about what the vault dwellers have been up to (if this FO3 is the next spot on the the Fallout Timeline).

I agree with the post above, that new towns for the sake of new towns is not enough. New towns with something to do, with a purpose is essential.

Of course, we have done Mutants, the Enclave, and Robots (FOT). If we go East the enemy might be...... Mormons?

[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Oct-02-02 AT 02:07AM (GMT)[p]Yes I agree it should be bigger but not just more east, west and south, what about up north in Canada, I mean instead of a desert wasteland setting there would be a nuclear winter inducded by the war or somthing... Any ways just a suggestion.

P.S
And yes I am Canadian and FO1-2 are the best RPG's ever made!!!!! Opps I g2g, hockey is on.

The different location bit has already being kicking around for a while. Canada, Mexico, South America, Europe(almost all of the EU were suggested), and surprisingly very few on Asia. There were some talks about Russia. I seem to recall I once suggested island countries in Asia such as Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, and etc.., but most don't know enough about Asian circumstances and environment to care too much.

It would be kind of interesting to take the whole thing into an entirely different perspective. The idea is, what happened to China after the war? They were the only other superpower left in the timeline, so they certainly had build vaults in order to survive. Or maybe Shi finally managed to build/fix a vertibird/tanker, and decide to take it back home to see what happened back home, and you were one of the crew/boy/girl that got suck in for the ride.

Some of the newbies may want to read up on the old posts just to see the wisdom or stupitity of the ancients. :D If you have any specific questions, ask Dark Underlord, he was one of the few that went through the whole thing and compile a list thereof. Don't ask me how he did it though. :P

No! No! The ideal would be large continent such as America, Europe, or Australia (ehhh.... sounds like Mad Max....). The Asian region possible probably China and India but believe me.... That's out of context.. Besides island country like Singapore are too small (You could travel from one end to another in few hours!!! No more sore feet and car.) and to travel around you'll need boat (Where do you wanna go? Indonesia is 150 miles below and Malaysia is above.). And perhaps in Post Apocalypse world, singapore is no more (Well, the ice melt. Singapore sunk). Beside why the hell US and Chinese bombs Singapore!!! Nothing there. If they do, i believe nothing left.... (Glup...glup...glup...)
The ideal Place is USA. Why? Because Fallout 1 and 2 happens there!! And nobody mention what happen to the rest of the world...

And Romeo told his beloved Juliet: "Kulo tresno karo Sampeyan."

*LOL*

:D

Whatever your ideal place for a FO3 would be is fine with me. I just posted all the places that have had been mentioned before a long time ago. The discussion was about wether we could give the plot line a new twist by introducing these things. And like I said most did not know enough about Asian cultures and environment to throw in much.

So don't get all your twisters in a knot, then take it easy. And maybe you can read up on some old posts as I had suggested.

Well, i know lot about Asian culture. Have you check my profile?

(errr that's one of them....)

:D:D

Why you could be from Mongolia for all I know, but I take your word for it. :P

But like I said, it was an attempt for the discussion board to revitalize and review the whole FO story line from an entirely new perspective. Then again, like I said before, the discussion never went anywhere, until Dark Underlord decide to pick up all the suggestions, read them, and compile them into a list for a fan project.
