Hired Guns: Another russian tactical game

Amiga Game Remade?

Huh, does this have anything to do with the old "Hired Guns" game from Psygnosis?

This game is actually an update to an old Amiga Game. The Amiga game did not have the same level of graphics as this one obviously does, however it was a fun game and scary at the time it came out. It had kind of a creepy feel to it and also had some very interesting ways of managing inventory and moving around with simply a mouse.

It would be nice if it did, although it looks good in its own right.

No this was originally going to be Jagged Alliance 3 or JA3D (I forget which) but then became JAZZ Hired Guns.

Yes, it was supposed to be JA3D, but Strategy Fist decided that GFI/Mistland are a bunch of retards and called off the licence. And that is a good thing.

They released an English demo yesterday.

The translation is terrible.

The translation from russian games sucks in most of cases. Ill Check the demo, may be is a great game.

The translation is indeed horrible, other than that it seems like 1:1 translation of Jagged Alliance into 3D and Africa. Even the internet password for making your own merc is the same (IIRC).

I initially blasted JA2 for its dated graphics and obscene difficulty. Nevertheless, I decided to give it another chance...boy, was that a good decision. The game's graphics are simple but very good, the sounds were a bit cheesy and the voice acting is incredible. I can't put into words how much content and complexity have been packed into this shiny little gem. I patched to the fan made 1.13 patch and the game improved a lot.

If Hired Guns is comparable to JA2...It'll be a game I'll play for sure. Hell, I would be happy with them, porting JA2 directly with the SAME content to 3D. The game KICKS ASS...Ivan Dolvich RULES!
