Hitman: the movie

Von Drunky

Sonny, I Watched the Vault Bein' Built!
The Hitman series has always been one of my favorite, it being 2nd only to Fallout. The movie come out today in the US. Based on what I have seen in the trailer it should be highly disappointing for the fans. Although the movie it self might have potential. Anyway check out the trailer tell us what you think. It is directed by Xavier Gens and written by Skip Woods (Swordfish). Timothy Olyphant plays 47, not my personal favorite for the part, I think Vin Diesel might have actually been a better choice.

Also if someone seen the movie please share your experience

Vin Diesel
Too buff, 47 was normal looking (shaved head and code bar on the back of it aside) so might Timothy Olyphant be right as far as the look goes. Must see the movie to comment any further.

It's probably crap, but I could be wrong. I like the Hitman games, but I just don't know about this.

*Quoted from youtube for truth*

"they should have used danny devito"

XD

It made me want to murder someone right there in the theater...

They butchered the character, put in explosions to dazzle idiots and there was a swordfight for some reason.

My only question is why?

Wow, you proved me right. Danny Devito should be agent 47.

But how did it rate as a movie over all, if there was no game to base it on?
Also did he end up bonking that chick? The game always made me question his sexual orientation, like if he even has one.

Bad.

They spend the entire movie trying to make 47 look like a good guy who was pushed too far, even though he wipes out loads of police officers and kills people for money.

And yes, he does pretty much bonk the chick, even though he was supposed to be conditioned to not have a sex drive in the games.

Eh, I don't remember any bonking, just him knocking her out and putting her into a car's trunk a few times.

If you're not a follower of the games, it's a semi-decent flic, but even then, you shouldn't go to it expecting great success. Otherwise, it's crap.

Though, they did use some things from the game, like camera angles, a penny, the guns, and even the game itself had a cameo.

That's one of the most boring trailers I've ever seen, but still my expectations remains as high as before I saw the trailer. I reckon that the trailer has been made in a wrong way, in a way that doesn't righteously put across the Hitman person, story and world etc etc.
Then again, I might be wrong - I haven't really played any of them since the third one, but I didn't get that kind of feeling from it.
Things might've changed, and my brain might have suffered severe memory loss.

But don't misinterpret me: I'm not the kind of person which immediately falls for a movie just because of its awesome explosions and special effects the "FUCK YEAH!" kind of way.
They just failed with the whole artistic chuch-like/opera music thingie.

wrong fucking actor. they shouldve taken Jason Statham.

i also hear that the voice actor that did the Hitman pc game series was also a lean baldy like in the game, so maybe they shouldve taken him?

Voice actor is played by David Bateson in all the Hitman games he is bald somtimes. However he is not young thats why they didn't pick him for the movie I'm guessing. He was born in 1960 and that means he is 47 years old now. Here is a link to his web page to see what he looks like:

I have yet to see the movie and doubt i will until it starts to pops up on the movie but honestly if they made the movie just like the game it really would not sell. 47 is not a charismatic character and watching him sneak around for 2 hours taking other peoples clothing just wouldn't appeal to the the general public.

Please don't ALL CAPZ thread titles,Von Drunky. It really puts me off in a poster.

(not a gay post)

Ugh. I knew when I saw that trailer it would suck, but the part of me that loved those games tried to believe it wouldn't.

If you look at the site of the voice actor/original model for the character of Agent 47, he looks perfect, and is and actor. Really seems like a no-brainer...

You forget that most film studios today actually have negative brains, creating large vacuums of stupidity that can actually afflict a person with temporary brain fart.

That and the fact that the original voice actor wasn't on Deadwood and because people have never heard of him, they'd never go see it on the basis that they liked the actor in previous works.

Looks bad, so I won't bother watching it until it comes around to TV for the references, although I suspect I would regret wasting time on it.

The thing that bothers me most is the guy they pick for the movie is too damn young looks like a teenager and not really scary looking. Agent 47 was born or cloned if you will in 1964. So if that movie is in todays time which is 2007 our agent 47 would be in fact 43 years old. More so the reason David Bateson should be the actor! Also, in the games series 47 is in his 30's and late 30's.
