Just saw a post on here where somone said they saw the Fallout original manuals being sold for $100! Thats like £50!

Is it true? Who would buy the original manuals and for how much?

The games, including the big box and the manuals in good shape go for about $100 each on eBay. I might buy them ... not sure though.

Hmm, I've never seen them go for $100 on ebay. The original games that include everything are like 10-15 bucks, if that.

Fallout 1 goes over 100 USD every time, no mistake about it. Fallout 2 sometimes ends cheaper, but goes often over 100 USD too.

That's for the US version, though. The UK versions are cheaper indeed, but nowhere near 10-15 USD.

Sometimes you get lucky though. I got both of them (UK versions) with strategy guides for each for 150 USD including shipping and Fallout 2 US for about 40 USD including shipping.

the EU manuals aren't expensive.

the FO1 spiral-bound US originals can go for quite a bit though. i'd buy one if i found one.

My bad, I guess I didn't do enough research. I just saw a couple of copies of original (or so they are described) Fallout 2 on eBay for $5, I guess the price will rise much higher than I thought. This isn't an original copy then? The reviewer is describing the right manual: "The game manual is wire-bound, thick, well-detailed, humorous, and illustrated. Game companies no longer produce manuals of this quality." Am I missing something?

The original box does look like that, but read the descriptions of the particular sellers. "Disc Only", "Jewelcase", "DVD" etc.

I'll be trying to get my hands on the original cardboxes some day. I recently got both US-Versions in a "Dual-Jewel" flip-thingie which is pretty cool. But I want the manuals and everything.

Heh, that's the only version I ever got. I saw it at some store ridiculously cheap ($10 or something) 8 years ago or so and I was like "hey, I remember this game". The rest is history.
