Hollow Man?!?!

Just finished a wierd combat in Quincy with what seems to be a bug - At one point while I was trying to rescue the mayor's daughter from the town hall, my minimap showed a "red" dot which I couldn't see! I moved my squad over the spot a few times and didn't see nothing.

Then I tried a burst of automatic fire at the location and saw splotches of blood and some dialogue. The text box didn't show any damage messages. After some more "spray and pray" I finally managed to kill the annoying invisible foe complete the rescue (the mayor's daughter won't talk to you until you kill everybody in the building). No body was found either after I killed him. Hope he wasn't carrying anything important.

Wierd! Anything like this ever happen in your games?

I've had some special encounters where there wont be anybody to find on the map but the minimap shows white dots where people should be. If you fire into them they all turn red but nobody moves. I just figured it was some sort of bug.
 
It looks like the missing sprites (graphics) problem. Mostly caused by the following case:

1. You did not do Full Install and the missing sprites is on one of the other CD.

2. Your installation was corrupted.

3. Your CD's is corrupted (try downloading CD3 Patch, the 80MB one).

The enemy in this case is not supposed to be able to attack you or even move. The max will be you will not be able to sneak, and it might say something as white text.
 
Yup, did the mega-install. Man, that means I've got to download that darned 80Mb patch. With my current (crappy) line conditions that may be something like two days continuous download at 2Mb/hour!!!

Yes 80MB is a lot. If i were on you i would not do anything, since it doesn't effect the gameplay. It will not matter if you didn't kill all the enemy.
 
errrr...

That 80MB patch is only needed if you have problerms seeing your inventory...

I had a problem in one of the 1st missions, my character shot at 'nothing', 'nothing' said 'aw' and died.... no blood, no inventory, but it managed to hit my char before it died....
':|
 
maybe the the reaper from the fear the reaper perk is running amok and killing everyone, :)
