holodisks

First time out of the vault
k, im playing fallout 2, and i cant seem to download the holodisks into my pipboy. ive tried right-clicking on them in the inventory and going to Use, and ive tried putting them in one of the active slots, but both ways it says "That does nothing". does anyone know how to fix this? or of another way to download the disks? (btw, i have the latest patch)

thanks
Dave

It should work when they're in your inventory, right click, click on the hand icon. When that is done, just check your pipboy, and they should be there, even if it says nothing in the dialogue box.

update: for some reason, i *can* upload the disks found in the sierra army base. they work just fine. but theres a few others, "NCR History Holodisk" and "Bishop's Holodisk" that still just say "That does nothing" when i try to use them. since ive only gotten this far, im not sure about the rest of the disks in the game, but this is quite the weird problem.

i was thinking, is there some sort of savegame inventory editor i could use to remove these 'faulty' disks and replace them with new ones?

Dave

You can't download the data from some of the Holodisks; Notice that the Bishop holodisk has something like "audio only, no text data on it". Some other holodisks like this one are those you get in Gecko.

NCR History holodisk (the one you get from the President off NCR) is, on the other hand, 100% downloadable. Check whether you have got a new PipBoy entry in the Status section.

Also, you may have previously downloaded the holodisk and not realized it. After that, when you try to download them again, it will say "That does nothing" in the dialogue box, iirc.
