How I could make the Fallout2 look better?

First time out of the vault
Recently I Fallout 2 from GOG, and I installed along with version 1.2 of teamX (which by the way, I'd love to know the difference between it and the version 1.2 of killap).
And I noticed that in quite a few online tutorials, the game looks much more polished (aka hd pack?)
so i googled hd pack, and found this-

and yet, the game is still far away from looking like this-

oh, and god forbid if i change the screen resolution. anything above 640X480, and the game goes Count the pixels mod.
so, umm.. help.

There's nothing else you can really do to make this game look any better, I'm afraid. Back when this game was made in 1998 640x480 was one of the highest resolutions available at the time. So when you increase the resolution to 16:9 16:10 you can really see the small imperfections in games back then. We are actually really lucky we can even play this game at such a high resolution.

Personally I think having everything bigger is better. I can't stand where all the characters on the screen look like board game men.

But the HD pack should be able to fix that for ya.

If it isn't, install Killap's Unofficial Patch (NOTE: NOT THE RESTORATION PACK, IT IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT).

I had a ton of problems getting HD mod to work just by itself, so eventually I deleted it and installed Killap's pack, and his HD mod works just fine.

Also GOG is a horrible place to buy Fallout. I hear about people complaining about every time they install a mod on the GOG version, something is wrong with it.

Don't know if your in the US or not, but they should have FO Classic Collection in your local Wal-Mart. If not, and I do hesitate to say this, but Interplay is also selling the Fallout: Trilogy on their website (and while you can count on them, you are also supporting the people who, well had a little bit to do with the downfall of Black Isles and the REAL Interplay.)

I've seen alot of Fallout fan sites saying the opposite about the gog version of Fallout 1 and 2. http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Fallout_2

I have the Steam versions and have had no problems so far though.
