How to get Fallout 1 to work on Vista?

Yep the modern games havent done it for me, iv decided to reinstall Fallout after 7-8 years , i was like 8 when i first played it and i yet to see somthing that is close to it,

anyways enough of that

i installed it, installed a few patches, and it loads up and the PLease Wait picture comes up.... then it goes black and dissapears, no error screen , notting?

neone know how this can be solved
 
Did you check the thread referred to in the last post of the troubleshooting sticky? Did you search or look around at all?
 
Couldn't you try dosbox or setting the compatibility mode to something else?
I'm not sure if there's compatibility modes in Vista anyway, but look for them.
