Sonny, I Watched the Vault Bein' Built!
I had the idea the other day that a poor mans method of making a movie would be to make a slide show with MS Powerpoint (or Open Office Presenter) and then use a screen capture tool to convert it into an AVI file.
Anyway, I've put together a quick mock-up to prove the convept.

It's only a quick slap together, but if you spent a little more time on the timming etc... it could be an easy way to make movies.
