How to make my own combat armor?

First time out of the vault
Hey guys

can someone help me make my own color combat armor?

I really want to make my own colored combat armor.

You probably won't get any more answers, then, as this question is addressed in dozens of other discussions in this very forum. To summarize, you need: hundreds of hours of spare time to individually paint zillions of frames of animations.

There are already some nice blue, black, and brown combat armors available over here. Perhaps one of those would be satisfying if all you want is a little something different for combat armor.

I want to know how they did it though :/

What programs and such.

What Endocore said...if you are dedicated, and have 500+ hours of spare time I suggest hunting down every site on critter editing, Fallout formats, FRMs, DAT explorers, etc.

After you're familiar with that stuff, and have Photoshop installed you could do a basic re-colouring (not accurate) of the armor through batching, otherwise you can repaint/colour each frame (5000+ frames).

There is the more ambitious attempt of 3d modeling a new critter with new combat armor - that might take 200+ hours depending on your skill level. Either way its long and tedious, most Fallout modders avoid too much work on the critters, and when they do play around with them they typically modify existing artwork - exchange heads, etc. :twitch:
