A security guard has shot and killed a man on the grounds of a Hollywood building owned by the Scientology church, Los Angeles police say.

Reports say the unidentified man arrived at the Scientology Celebrity Centre wielding swords.

LA: Not a place for people with swords.

Heh, I wonder what their press release will look:

"Our guard has merely purged his soul of thetans. In the Interest of saving his soul, we kindly request the family to GIVE US ALL THEIR FUCKING MONIES."

Fucking kill them all, and let Xenu sort 'em out.

Seriously though, I think the reason they're becoming such a thread is because the media and the demonstrators are blowing it out of proportion. It's like the neo-nazis, they feed on attention. Just ignore them and they will go away, eventually.

I do not think they will go away by ignoring them. I think they will grow stronger when they are not being questioned.

I really don't think attention will help, either. It's just drafting new members.

I don't see how they're different from any organized crime unit. Just jail all officials they try to corrupt, and close down their facilities. Fuck, where's Kevin Costner when you need him?

Scientologists are scary buntch They will rely on violence if they have to.
Being a cult i wouldn't be suprised if they pull of a "last stand" when facing the police and FBI somewhere in the future.
I sure as hell don't want these money robbing, mindwashing guys in my vinicity. Vinicity being 100km. Or 1000km.

With Tom Cruise and other major Hollywood profiles behind them, I have my doubts about a Waco going down.

Well honestly, i don't think that Tom Cruise will stop Feds from taking down them if they have to.
And it really is only matter of time before they have to take action.
This scientology cult is really getting out of hand.

Do not ever doubt the almighty power of the dollar.

Blade:"How come you're not ash?"
Familiar:"Not a vampire...*groans, spits up blood* DUMBSHIT!!!"
Blade:*looks around nervously, breaks the fuck out*

I think rational argument against Scientology is good (samurai swords is bad), and eventually it will fizzle out. Maybe it will happen sooner or maybe later. It could be when governments revoke it's tax exempt status and it starts hemorrhaging cash. It could be when it's current crop of celebrities get old and die out. Honestly if you look at the list of who's a scientologist - most of them probably aren't on the up and up. Jason Lee might have more than Earl left and Juliette Lewis could always get her career rebooted by Quentin Tarentino, but most of them are future retired celebrities. When was the last time you listened to Beck?

Of course another way that Scientology could fizzle out would be if extraterrestrial aliens arrived on Earth and said, "There never was anyone named Xenu. You're making this crap up!" Maybe that won't happen for a while, but I think the attention has been wising the general public up a bit regarding Scientology. Sure, I think most people that join are idiots, screwed up, or just want a chance to rub shoulders with celebrities, but even if there are a plentiful supply of those people, the more informed people in the general public the more chance that they will intervene when their loved ones are being stupid.
