I´m from ARGENTINA; Someone please HELP!!!!!!!!

Alejandro

First time out of the vault
I have an AMDk62-475/95 mhz with a TnT 2 32mb and 128 mb DIMM but the problem is that Fallout Tactics runs very slow; you just have to see the scrolling .... I CAN´T PLAY MEN is tedious, va no se como se dice pero "tedioso" is the word.
I´ve patched it to 1.27 but it keeps running slow!!!!!

WHAT I HAVE TO DO??; i just wanna play!!

Ale

Are you running it on a laptop? In any case, your CPU is just barely above the minimum requirements for the game so it's never going to run fast for you. Your graphics card and ram are adequate but they aren't helping you any - upgrading them wouldn't be worth it though.

Anyway, you can defragment your hard drive and close all background applications before playing for a tiny bit of a speed increase, but it's never going to run fast with a computer that old.

I'm sorry pal, but the only cure against cases like this would be a shotgun blast to the head...

There's no way to get rid of that Argentina-ness.

Your CPU is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too slow. Fallout 2 was a bit slow on my old P150, 32 RAM and 2Mb S3.

Actually, I'm from Argentina as well, and recently got my Spanish Passport.
First-time-poster, long-time-reader around here.

edit: wow, sry, didn't check the date. But on the other hand, this forum doesn't get a lot of movement.

upgrade that CPU!!! 95mhz is unacceptable for anything....except Gorilla Wars for Qbasic! Get a new motherboard and CPU. 500mhz should do you just fine.

500mhz!?!??!?!

Damn, I just saw a 2.6ghz machine at freaking Walmart for 500 bucks. Decent machine ofr them to carry.

If it's got less than 1.4 ghz, and less than 256MB ram, don't even bother.

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be worth it to upgrade what you've got. I seriously doubt it's got anything worth salvaging.

 $500,000 bucks is a lot of money anywhere.

I meant $500 USD. I'm sure it'll be a different price, but comparitively, that's about 2/3 what someone would pay for comparable equipment anywhere else.

$500 USD = $1,485.50 Argentina Pesos

All computer equipment here is sold in USD, even in newspaper advertrising the prices appear in USD.
Is not that things here are more expensive. We just get lower salaries!
Anyway, I think you really need to spare some cash for a new micropocesor, and motherboard probably.
Check the newspaper, ask around, you'll probably find something that suits you! I played it with a 600mhz (an old model that can't be too expensive) and passed the final with it, not running it very fast tough. I have a 1600mhz with a 64mb video card and 400mb plus change change of RAM, and I am happy that everything runs fast if not the fastest. And I am not rich neither.
I think you should really get something a bit higher than 600mhz and it probably wouldn't be too expensive.

You guys are all so silly..... OVERCLOCKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

can get that thing to atleast 400mhz 0_O

put your cpu in a bucket of ice, and let the overclcoking begin =/

Seriously though if your desperate for more power overclocking should help, otherwise, go pick up a barebones machine for 250, and use your old monitor keyboard etc.

Wasn't there that tool for optimising FOT that repacked the archives or something?

Anyway you can get an OK computer here in NZ for about $1000 NZ dollars, which is $683.30 US so When Dove said the $500 was about 2/3 of else where he was right :)

Of course in New Zealand we just get shipped the old left over stock from the US that no body wants to buy anyway ;)

What I meant by that was that most anywhere in the US you see a computer with comparable specs goes for about $650-$700 USD, but the difference would be that this one has a DVD dual layer combo burning drive. Which I haven't seen on it's own for less than $200 USD. Hell, I bought a laptop a year ago for $1100 USD with far less capabilities, I guess when Walmart promised to sell decent computers for less than anyone else they weren't joking.

Also WalMart has gotten pretty well spread out internationally. Check to see if there's a local one near you, and see if they have it in stock.

the FOT booster is messed i think..

i let it do its thing, and defraged after and shit

but goto play fot only to find most of the raiders are gone.. theire there, but not visible and dont attack me, i kill them tho when im aggressive

so i gotta reinstall fot
