I started playing "Fallout 2", a week or more ago. It was a very nice refreshment for me. I am usually into only MMORPGS. But the fun factor in those were low.
Each new MMORPG I tried had a very nice appearance, except the problem was the FREEDOM. I tried to hack MMORPGS, which is very difficult. I succeeding in hacking on some things, but they were worthless. In the end it wasn't fun and was too much competition for me trying to work my way up too top legiately.
Thus my visit to Fallout 2!
I was introduced to Fallout 1 when i was a kid. Very nice game! Then I got Fallout: Tactics when I hit my teens, ..while my brother had Fallout 2.(I never got to play though)
Ok so Fallout 2 is nice, I haven't even done 25% of the game yet. I downloaded "Friendly Klint". FK was a nice addition to the team, i also downloaded a Vertibird Mod which is what I really wanted to see. Later after spending hours trying to figure out how to use the thing... I findout you can't literally fly it alround town like I had thought.
I like the idea of modding Fallout 2. I would like to sorta make an expansion pack to the game. Let me elaborate...
-I don't want to write a storyline
-I don't want to Edit the existing cities at all really..
I just would like to add small features into the game. And maybe fix some things that I think need to be fixed. But heres the tricky part I would like to do it on a large scale.
So it feels like your playing and updated Fallout 2. I have read about people's complaints of the graphics or engine of the game being old. Duhhhhhh!
But I think they are right, maybe a little touch-ups or something would be nice. I am in interested in the scripting though! I'd like to add some more fun stuff to do/have.
I have been thinking a chat client should be implemented in the game. So we don't feel quite so alone. But I don't want the players actually on the same game I am.
I believe the design of Fallout 2 walks among the elite of all I have ever seen. Thus it will be much fun to see how my changes affect the game.
I plan on sharing the Modifications I make with other people, so they too can witness my work.
Can anyone suggest some tutorials/guides that can help me create the Modifications I want?
