It Wandered In From the Wastes
I started up a new Character in F:NV and I am going to stick to it and finish it this time. Including the DLC. Anyways I have done my normal stuff (Helped Goodsprings, Primm is still semi-independent, mostly not evil, but did cap a prospector for her stuff) and I am in Novac doing the Rocket quests and other Novac stuff when it hit me.

Novac gets it name from "No Vac"ancy. I been though Novac how many times and never realized that.

Dang I feel dumb...

Anyone else want to share you moment of dumbness?

Same thing happened to me with C"Arefu"l in F3.

I had my fair share of mild to severe retardation during my time in Mojave.

For some time i never used antivenom. Instead, when cazadores stung me, i waited til my health dropped close to zero and then used a shitload of stimpacks to recover.

I once fortified the outskirts of Novac with a chain of plasma mines. While placing them i didn't notice that the Glowing One on the way to REPCONN test site has respawned. He suddenly rushed me and we both disappeared in one big blob of jellied plasma.

A thing that unfortunately happened more then once is that i went on a long trip to a place like the Devil's Throat. Upon arival i go for a leap of faith into the crater (because i'm too lazy to walk another 20 meters and get there safely). I die. Previous save--> Novac................Nice.

Went through whole Vault 34 without saving (Pulse Gun, saving the people/reactor, the whole shabang). Upon exiting the Vault my game gets stuck in the loading screen. Autosave corrupted.

I once embarked on a journey to the Legates camp by jumping over Camp Searchlight Airport's fence ( you know, by stacking ammo in a pile). After a good hour of walking i slip from the world's edge and fall into the abyss.

I felt like an idiot when I rushed through most of Vault 11 (I did notice most of the prominent V11 plot points), i then ran through a door, where several angry sentry bots proceeded to attack me. I didn't once realise what had happened after I died. Then when I looked for a save to load from, I noticed no autosaves from V11, no autosaves at all, and my last normal save was in Mojave OP, several (real life) hours earlier. I traced my thoughts, and realised I had turned off the autosave option an hour earlier so it wouldn't save inadvertently when I merrily ravaged the NCR after one too many times of them saying "Mojave wasteland makes me wish...".

Ill advised parkour without saving is something that sets me back pretty often, because most of the time the game's poor physics allow you to get away with it, so I keep doing it, but every now and then a cliff is just a little too steep.

......for a nuclear winter. 8-)

No.....I actually meant "Patrolling the Mojave makes me wish for better wasteland physics"......aww who am I kidding.

I (completely by accident, mind) got Raul killed by legionnaires.

Another one would be that for the longest time (until I guess July)I never noticed that the slaves in the fort are wearing Hjabs. Guess what my headgear is always now? :P

yes, my gal is wearing what effectively a Hjab, legion killed a pair of wandering merchants, and i took it off one of the mercs who was wearing one.

As for another idiot moment

[spoiler:193d8858f8]I was in the basement doing the Come Fly With Me quest, and killing nightkin, and I ran into Davison, he was pissed off, so I fired my rifle a few times, then remembered, crap, he a tough mofo, so I ran away, and took out Frag Mines and placed them on the ground as I ran away, as it would slow him down.

ED-E and mines did the trick, and I pick up the mines and talk to Harland, inform him of his friend, and he runs off. I am looking about when suddenly "Harland Leg is crippled" and other notices pop up. Apparently, I forgot one of the mines. (DOU!!)

He then hobbled back to get his leg in a bear trap and died. So I took his stuff and went on. As that is how my character rolls. [/spoiler:193d8858f8]

After completing Bye Bye Love on my first playthough, I wanted to give Cachino a little payback so I sold him out to Nero and Big Sal. In all fairness, the game doesn't tell you the bosses' plans until after finishing the quest, but I felt like a complete ass when I heard The Strip was bombed.

Oh, and running around blindly in H&H Tools despite Crandon's warnings. "I've got metal armor! I'll be ok!"

I went through vault 11 after I had read how awesome people thought it was, and the whole time i'm thinking "this isnt that great"

then I ended the events there.

Needless to say, I felt like a dumbass.

How about in vault 11(?). Into the Chamber, sat in the comfy chair, watched the movie and my 'sacrifice'. Thought something subtle like gas would vent in, I got my rebreather on(for ashetics) when LO! AND BEHOLD! i was gunned down STILL SITTING in my chair like Bonnie and Clyde.

In my first playthrough (Isn't that where these always happen?) I went to Nipton, then went the completely wrong way. I went to Scorpion Gulch (I think that's the name. It's the place near Hidden Valley with all the scorpions) and kept getting killed. I seriously thought that was the way to go to Novac.

I said I THOUGHT that was the name. It's the area filled with scorpions near hidden valley.

Scorpion Gulch is just outside Goodsprings, how the hell did you get there from Nipton of all places?
No, Scorpion Gulch is indeed the place close to Hidden Valley. The scorpion-infested area below Goodsprings Cemetery is unnamed.

I haven't played the game much, but I've had a similar experience with scorpions.

Upon starting the game, and getting out of the Doc's house, I decided to go to the graveyard, armed with a laser pistol. When I climbed on to the hill, I noticed a rad scorpion, so I laser'd it. Then I noticed another one, this time a Great Radscorpion, so I though about lasering it too. Turned out it's carapace was a though nut to crack, so I ended up running back to Goodsprings, but getting stuck somewhere in the way (stupid engine). Ammo-less, I got a few new holes on my fragile body before succumbing.

Load game - Doc's house.
