[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Sep-16-00 AT 11:23AM (GMT)[p]Yes, I have finished it. It looks quite good, in my opinion. Want me to post pics?

On another note; I tried converting the 8 bit BMPs to FRMs, but it ended up being this weird mosaic of ugly colors, and the car was placed wrongly. I need help here.

I used the FRM Converter 2.0, but I haven't registered it, apparently. I did try converting it, though, but I ended up getting a neverending chain of errors, and had to reboot. Then, I turned to Borg's DOS-based converters, but they cannot read my BMPs for some reason or other.

Help me out here, I'm dying to get this thing in-game!

/edit: BTW, both BMPs are the same size as the old ones, and basically just paint-overs done in different layers, then saved as BMP. I guessing that the problem is with the palettes, but I have no idea of what to do. This still doesn't explain the placing problem, though.

Try the palette swapper off www.thevats.f2s.com maybe the other guys will know more about this.

<EDIT>

Dr.W95 you've got some javascript errors on your files page. Unterminated string constant then a 'n' is undefined at a guess you missed the closing '.

What I found that works is converting an in game FRM to BMP, then saving the BMP's palette. Then once I finish the new drawing and want it in the game, all I have to do is load that palette.

I installed Spylog's because they allowed to install additional counters on different pages of the site and count the hits for each page. But looks like this feature doesn't work due to a bug so I don't need them. Know any counters with the same features?

Bravenet allows you to have three hitcounters at a time. I believe hitbox allows you to have as many as you like. Hitbox sounds like the best choice for you. Bravenet does lots of useful stuff guestbooks, forums, site monitoring lots of useful stuff.

Yes...

I posted some instructions about how to do that using frm2bmp 'n bmp2frm in our modding forum, if you want, you can check it out.

/edit: My non-existing HTML skills didn't help me much. Just click the URLs.

As I said, these are simple re-colorings, and they don't look great. They didn't take me that long, either, so there...
Oh, and keep in mind, that these are 16 bit JPEGs, so they will look a tiny bit different in-game.

I have no experiences with palettes in PhotoShop, and I don't have time to find out at the moment. I haven't tried out those programs, yet, but I intend to do so tomorrow.

RE: Ok, this HTML crap just baffles me...

Heh. This board is annoying because it does some fairly basic URLs and returns, but when you try to do something with real HTML it goes and screws things up unless you know the work arounds.

Anyway, that car looks very nice, I would prefer driving that around than the rusted one, but it looks a lot like a funny hurse which is missing it's back part. If you made the doors, roof and hood white then it could become a 1950's police car ;).

Anyway, to load a palette in PS you have to click on the side arrow in the swatch menu and select load palette.

However I use a very old but good program for all my palette swapping/image viewing (especially since my RAM is crap and PS takes 5 minutes to load), Paint Shop Pro 3.12.

Hey, that's a great idea. I will do some more versions.
I was also thinking, can't I just send the 8 bit BMPs to you, so you could convert them to FRMs? I'm really stupid when it comes to things like this, so... please? =)

Maybe you could post it on TMS' site, too?

Anyway, I've made even more rusted ones, with a smashed windshield, and more dents, and such. Should I put this up, too?

RE: Okay...

Just going to start doing palette swapping now. I think we should make an installer out for this.
