Fallout 1 mod I have questions

First time out of the vault
Hello fellow Vault dwellers ! I have a question about the Fallout FIXT mod for FO 1 , whenever we install the mod will it automatically be put into the game with all mods included in it? or do we have to do some weird fancy tech stuff to get the mod into the game? (cuz i'm horrible at that stuff like man) ( oh! and i've literally just now made an account on this website here and so I am new to all of this also it is my very very first time playing FO 1 believe it or not :o) anyway! those were my questions if anyone can explain it to me in an easy way to understand please do so! Thank you all and god bless the Enclave or..the BOS or whoever

if You download "Full Custom" version of the mod most of the settings will be configurable via installer.
The mod installs into a separate folder within Fallout folder with a desktop shortcut to the mod executable.
unfortuneatly not all settings are configurable via the installer. it is a good thing to look into f1_res.ini if you want to improove visuals and enable the game to run in newer systems (win 7/8.1/10) as the game initially was designed for win95/dos. also Look up this part of the forum for newer Sfall version for Fallout1 (ddraw.dll and ddraw.ini) put the .dll file into mod folder and open in notepad ddraw.ini from mod folder and the one from unpacked sfall download and compare them setting them similarly (some options can be changed to your desire but keep directx mode and procesor idle time and resolution as is. f1_res.dll and f1_res.ini handle that better, so set it there).

Besides that in FalloutFixt/data folder there's a vault13.gam file somwhere in a subfolder. there are additional settings there. (for example I was able set wether rat corpses leave meat in them if you make a outdorsmann skill check). Some of those settings in vault13.gam are not configurable within the installer.

However for a first playgthrough i recommend "bugfixes only" version. famillarize yourself with the game engine first and on a second playthrough you might try something more.

Hmm so do you think I should install the Full Custom version?

Easy don't double post. Moderators and admins really don't like that, especially when done by newbies, so watch yourself next time.

as for what version You should use as I've stated in the first post at the end. for first playthrough You should stick with Fixes Only, for vanilla experience. You should try Full Custom on a second and later playthroughs.

Ah alright and sorry about the whole double post thing I didnt know the reply box was down here I just clicked on the green button to the right that said reply the first time but anyway thanks for the help.
