Besides there is always a small change that the code won't work, so i'll try to minimize potential harm to other.

Not anymore, there was a problem with the weathered 10mm pistol skitzing out when taking weapon mods but they fixed it. Well sort of.
Doubt you'll be able to find spare codes for it though, at least here.
