Hy, I`m a new member of this forum but I`m watching this forum for a couple of months, and I wanted to share something with you guys. I recently sent a mail to Chris Avellone and asked him two questions. The second one is not too important (is kind of stupid, really ;<), is the first one that I`m talking about. Here it is:
Hy. I`m a Fallout gamer from Romania and I have the following questions:
1. What is the deal with the retinal scanner from the docks in San
Francisco, and all those guys blumbering about some submarine.
2. Does the Holy hand Grenade really exists? If so, where can we find it?
Thanx.

Hey, Steelface, I don't know the answer to question 2 (I'm checking on it
right now), but I do know #1 and will be posting it in the next Bible
update:
============================================
The retinal scanner was just there for show, nothing intended. As for the
submarine, that's a little longer story.
As mentioned in Fallout 2, the Shi (or more specifically, Dr. Fung) say that
they are descendants from the crew of a Chinese nuclear submarine (the
Shi-huang-ti - the remains of which were used to help build the Palace in
San Francisco).
This submarine was supposed to play a larger role in Fallout 2, but it was
axed because the game was too big as it was. Basically, it was another stage
to "get the tanker ready" quest - basically, there was this old Chinese
submarine submerged in the waters of San Francisco, and if it detected any
American vessel coming anywhere near it, its automated defense system would
fire its missiles at the vessel and destroy it. So the intention was for you
to find some activation code to disarm it before you could take the tanker
safely to the Enclave.
