You know what I'm talking about.

You're at that point in the game where you gotta do that one thing to accomplish that other thing, and you're brainstorming to come up with the best possible way to finish the job.

So you decide that by grabbing *object 1* and *object 2* and *verb*ing them together, you can *yet another verb* and BAM, you'll be home free.

*sigh*

Or so it would seem logical in such a real life scenario.

I, for instance, feel that in a Post-Apoc environment like Fallout, scavenging would be one of the most critical skills to have in order to survive in the wastes.

Does anybody have an specific ideas where this has happened to you?

Yep, that and the ability to make things would help. I would think skills to improvise and make stuff would be essential in the wastes.

So what your saying is that you're supposed to bring the thing to the guy over at the place which is east of the big thing. See, then the guy's friend is gonna take you to the building, and then you're gonna buy some stuff and take it to the important guy. you know.

[offtopic] Wait, what the hell, since when did Ozzy become a mod in this forum????[/offtopic]

C'mon guys, you know what I mean.

Like that one place where you're trying to get into the secret military base, and you can't figure out what to do until you see that stick of dynamite and the pole lying around, so you attach the two, jam it onto the mining cart and push it towards the doors.

That kind of intinuitive should be more present in the Fallout world.

I mean, c'mon, that was a common sense solution to solving the problem. That's what's so great about Fallout: the non-linearity of it. I think that finding local solutions in the local environs, especially if you're playing a scavanger or science character, should be more frequent and available in these games.

Any similar situations or ideas out there?

Yeah, there's not much options for playing a scientist is there? It usually comes down to a fighter/ thief character to get the most out of things.

I heard someone say that Fallout was bad because you couldn't play a doctor-type character and beat the game.

Agreed. I suggest visiting your local Best Buy to locate the twin-jewel case of Fallout 1 & 2. Go to the register and fork over $9.99. Then go home and play both for two weeks. Repeat until your question answers itself.

jeez, I'm mean today!

Or just fork over $100 to me and I will ship you both boxed with everything included, I have three copies of both now...

:P
