Hello everyone,
I don't know if anyone here finds RTS games enjoyable but I figured I make a post to point out a great free game based on the C&C franchise before it turned into the detritus EA warped it into.

Dawn of the Tiberian Age:

Dawn of the Tiberian Age or DTA for short is heavily influenced by classic Westwood titles like C&C 95 and Red Alert but with a slight twist. Unlike most mods related to this franchise the "twist" of the mod does not hamper the glory of the original games and allows for unique game play in both the standard classic game style as well the enhanced mode.

Classic game play is the same game play you would expect from the original titles except that it has been updated to the Tiberian Sun engine. (Which allows a much greater freedom in game play compared to the classics.)

Enhanced mode allows players to tinker with a just after C&C 95 world as well interesting and balanced alterations that would make sense to the franchise lore and style.

Looking for a competitive AI?
Well DTA has that and if you aren't a experienced player be sure to expect getting the floor mopped with your tears.

Are you a campaign junky? DTA provides multiple single player campaigns as well scenarios to play through. Bear in mind that DTA has 4 modes of difficulty (easy, medium, hard, and DTA) If you play a campaign marked HARD or higher expect the situation to quickly get out of hand. (all campaigns and scenarios are pre-marked for difficulty, while the difficulty slider does effect how intense the game will be it cannot account for built in triggers that could be your eventual downfall.)

Multiplayer is supported and has an active community, the function is built into the launcher and allows users to easily connect with players for skrimish, coop, or custom scenarios.

Skirmish is a staple of course and allows users to customize their game play even further with selections of multiple "rules" that can change game play greatly on any given map.

But what if I start playing the game and find bugs or other issues? Well then hop onto the DTA forums and tell the devs about it. They are always open to suggestions as well constantly checking the forums to figure out if their current builds have any issues. Feel free to let them know as they are very approachable.

Want to make your own custom content for the mod? Then go ahead, the tools are included as well the staff for DTA are always happy to help teach or give advice one the best methods or tricks.

Worried that installation of this free game will be difficult?
Well don't be, all you do as the player is download the launcher, then the launcher does all the heavy lifting for you. The launcher also acts as the games main splash/gui so even after install you wont have garbage files left over.

In my honest opinion this is by far one of the best RTS games out there at this current time. So if you are bored or languishing over a Fallout related derp, this is a great distraction.

Have fun and enjoy!

Thanks Hassknecht, I thought about putting the direct link in there but I didn't want to seem pushy.
