That's spooky. I heard that song for the first time in my life yesterday, not from the web, but from a collection of zany country songs for children. Check out The Bottle Let Me Down: Songs for Bumpy Wagon Rides (you'll probably hate it). "Godfrey" by Robbie Fulks is... well... worth hearing.
 
I actually remember this song from when I was a child. We had one of these cassettes called like Silly Songs or something and this was on there.
