I don´t mean to complain, think the demo was great, just doing my part to make the full version better.

1. I open a door. See 5 guards. I shoot one in the back and then take cover. Nothing happens. All five just stand there. Because they can´t see me? One room, one door, one bullet in one`s back. This has to fixed. I simply slaughtered ´em. BUT. Even this included a bug. If I take ´em one by one, whith my men coming from behind a cover, shooting at the guy and taking cover again, the turn ends every time one of the guards get killed. This leaves my sniper lying before 4 guards in real time, and new TB combat begins as soon as those punks have already shot my brave warrior to death. I should at least be able to finish my turn and take my sniper behind a cover, as planned. I mean, this really ruins a great tactic!

2. If soldier boy lies down and a guard stands behind a wall, it´s easier for me to hit the guy than standing up! I know that lying down gives me more support, but the less I see, the more difficult it should be to shoot the guy. Also, if I see just the guards head, I´m still able to shoot he´s feet! (please tell if I´m wrong!).

3. Weapons. Its already pointed out that something has to be done whith the weapon balance. In addition, there should be some special used-to-using -skill. That means that when using some certain weapon a lot, a squad member would get used to using it, starting to exel whith it. That could also mean that some squad members would "grow up" to prefer rifles, while one would get use to shooting whith pistols. I LOVE pistols...

Well, at least say something! ...I know it´s pretty long thouht... :)

The special system uses skill points to distribute, if you want someone to get better with pistols then distribute their points in small arms. They aren't going to change this, and they shouldn't. If they did it wouldn't be the special system anymore and therefore not Fallout.

As for the AI it needs some serious work, but last I heard they were only 50% done with it and from what I hear they didn't put that much into the demo.

I didn´t mean they should change the system, cause you´re right, then there wouldn´t Fallout anymore. There would still be the old system with small weapons ja big weapons and energy weapons and melee weapons and....
Its just that "small weapons" includes both pistols AND rifles. And that´s good. But. Let´s imagine that Colt was my favorite weapon. Its really a cool weapong, but in the game it has a lousy fire power. Even if I boosted my small weapons up 200, it wouldn´t do miracles. Because of that, there should be some kind of additional system that using some same weapon A LOT would eventually show as more critical hits, for example. Then it would be possible to create a Colt-dedicated pistol guy, say, a cowboy. :)

Anyway, the fact is that the weapon system has to balanced, somehow. Whithout the balance, its only about the size of the weapon, no matter if the guy was born whith a Colt in his hand.

You can create a pistol guy, take the trait "one hander" assuming they put carry on with it... + to one handed or pistol weapons - to two handed or rifles... did this in fallout 1 on my first character worked great.

Yeah, I know.

BUT. Even that trait isn´t enough to balance everything, that story about Colt was just an example, it should be possible to prefer only shotgun and become some kind of shotgun master. Then, if you got enough whith it, you would be able to use other weapons as well if your skills allow you, naturally. There really would be SPECIAL system as before. Its just that no matter how good shooter I am, if the max damage whith a small gun is 10, then its 10, and that´s about that. Even whit a critical hit it doesn´t get much better. When it comes to upper level combats, that leaves me or any other player whith a one single option: bigger weapon. Of course, big weapon is bigger than small weapon, but isn´t it so that one really accurate shot to the head can do tremendous damage, no matter how small the gun. So SOMETHING has to be done. Cause now I can´t use a small pistol even as a secondary weapon. And I don´t mean only small guns. Don´t you ever had the feeling in Fallout 1 or 2 that your character became one whit his weapon? I almost felt that the more he shot whit it, the better the results, even if I didn´t aply any skill points...

Maybe you like SMGs? It could be like the more you burst, the better damage, maybe not MUCH better, but at least he would be really reliable SMG man. Of course he would know how to use any other small guns, SMG just would be his favorite one. As in real life, it requires some time to get use to a new weapon, I mean to really get the best out of it.

SO. My suggestion is that a character could gather experience in using SMGs, rifles, miniguns, pistols, shotguns etc, cause they all should be considered as their own groups of weapons.
They all would have their own "count". And nothing would happen to the SPECIAL.
