Importing sounds into Fallout 3

First time out of the vault
Hi all,

I am new to this forum so I apologize if this is not the right place to post this topic or if the question is answered elsewhere. I have taken time to try find a solution on my own to no avail. I have just starting using the GECK I am attempting to import some dialogue I have recorded as a sound. I am trying to create a new sound under the Miscellaneous/Sound section of the GECK object window. I have a decent familiarity with the editor from time spent with it on Morrowind.

I set up a new sound file and select my test audio wav file (I have made sure that it fits the sound frequency etc needed for Fallout 3) and it shows that the selection was successful.

My problem is that when I try to play it nothing happens. I have also tried to save the new sound item and reopen it up in GECK and attempt to play it. When the happens I get a warning message:

"Audio: Could not open file test.wav"

I have tried this process with ogg files as well which don't even seem to load up and also running the GECK as administrator (I'm using Vista)

If anyone knows of any tutorials I could try or has any advice it would be much appreciated :)
