Incredibly Dumb Vehicle Question

I've read in other threads that vehicles are used for storage. Could someone tell me how I place things in a vehicle? Do I just transfer it onto the vehicle?

As you've most likely surmised, I've been leaving lots of good equipment in every mission because I can't carry it all.

ok load your guys in to the car humV tank ect what ever you drive and click on one of them then open thier inven screen you will see a second one to the left thats the cars inven screen then just move stuff from your guy to the car.
