Though I didn't complain about this in FO1 and FO2, I think armor should be more "destructable" in BoS. For instance, even when I blew a guy up into pieces in FO2 I could still pick up his armor. Shouldn't an armor be destroyed, or at least provide less protection, after being damaged? It would make the game better, especially in multiplayer mode.

dude, i agree completely... i mean, if i blow a guys chest outta his body, then i think his armor would have a nice fat hole in it.

Yeah, only twice in my entire life have I been able to pick up a dead guy's armor in FO...

Idea: you could salvage damaged armor. With high enough repair skill, i suppose you could patch up the hole with UHU or something adhesive. or maybe use something hardier if you felt inclined to do so.

Btw: I don't think i've ever picked up armor in the fallout series, 'cept for maybe some of the lower-grade stuff. weird, huh?

I understand what you all are talking about. You could never pick up the armor of the NPC's, but that's because they were designed (correct me if I'm wrong here) to not have the armor as an equipment or item. What I was refering to are the character you can control ex. Lenny. When they get blown to pieces their armor remains for you to simply reuse.
Now that you mention it thought I guess not letting you salvage an opponent's armor is a negative also. For example, say if I'm a start up character in FO2 and wonder across lone enclave patrol man, and then I was lucky enough to kill him. I would hope to be able to pick his armor up. A huge defensive advantage. This however is almost never (if ever) possible in FO2.

You can take armor off the Salvatores upstairs in the Salvatore bar. Mason even has Metal Mark II. Not sure if you can take from the ones downstairs though...

hehe..how do you know if they were wearing it when you killed them?..mason didnt look like he was wearing any metal did he? as i recall he had on a black leather jacket and hip' blue pants..salvatore, too, didnt seem to be wearing anything..

So basically, u all wanted to have armor that can be damaged. Actually, it can be worked about by attaching damage percentage of 100% to 0%. Once u get shoted at then, the armor will never have a 100% protectage. The smaller the %, the less protection it gives u.

Diablo does that. I dunno, I have mixed options on it. If you have damagable armor, then that would be something more to do after each battle. I'm not sure repairing armor would be that fun.

I guess if you only had to repair the armor on the people who died, that might be okay. It'd be a good source of income if you had a good repair skill.

It means more money must be used on repairing armor then spenting it on guns. But ppl want destructable armor so I gave them that copied idea.

You don't have to spend all the money in the world on it. Plus, what I really want the armor for is an income source. Kill someone, take their damaged armor and sell it for a fraction of a new armor's price. I guess you could take time and repair it for added income on that armor. Just a thought.

So, they should draw new art for armor with a hole in the chest, then, new art for a hole in the head (for armor which covers that part of the body), new art for laser burns, new art for armor with pieces of fragmentation grenades stuck in it, etc etc.
Then they'd have to design an algorithm for loss of protection, a feature which would in the end annoy most gamers. It's pretty impractical.
