Inon Zur's Music in the Retail Release

Still Mildly Glowing
So, now that it's out, what do people think of the full tracklisting? Does it end up fitting or atrocious? Also, if you want to go through the tracks out of the game, just head into the Data\Music subdirectory in your Fallout 3 folder - if you remove the tracks from their respective folders, you can then replace them with ones of your own choosing. I've done this with the OSTs for Fallout and Fallout 2.

The only tracks I found kinda Fallout-ish (atmospheric and dark) are those for the dungeons actually. But not all of them.

Many tracks reminded me of Fallout tactics soundtracks (also, by the same composer). He used pretty much the same instruments, but the ones for tactics I found more Fallout-ish.

Sometimes dungeon tracks sound like music from the Diablo II!

But IMO the most Fallout like track, most industrial and ambient is the one where you're installing the game, a "Fallout Launcher".

Others are too orchestral. I don't see the point of doing a short song-clip for leveling up. It's annoying.

For the Wasteland is totally bad!

It's bad for a Fallout game...I say, for a Fallout game, see? :P
That what it is all about, niah.

It was ok, the level up music was pretty cheesy now that I think about it. One thing I did like was the old music they had on GNR, even if it was only 3 songs or so.

its a conspiricy between the decendants of the artists and the RIAA to get people to start putting 30's music on the billboard charts again.....naw just kidding, i actually love all the songs in the game, but im just weird :P not to mention i had the game preordered since ummm....lemme get out the old preorder receipt......july of 2005

Wow, you...suck.

(just kidding :P)

Some of his ambient music is good, but I'd much rather have Mark Morgan's music going.

The first mod I'd like to get is one that lets you play any track you want, so I could just insert the Fallout 1 and 2 music into this.

uhgh. Most music is bad/mediocre. its much worse than Mark Morgans`

I ended up replacing 80% with fo1/2 music as well. But that doesnt help that music is situatoin-based, while original games had location-based music which created better atmosphere and sense of place

Yeah, unfortunately. When (if) the game will be modded, it will be probably more location-base.
