Installer doesn't load...?

Hadn't played tactics in forever, decided to give it another go, put in the cd, started up the installer, nothing pops up.

manually browse to cd and open setup.exe

nothing.

the program is actually running, i can see it in task manager, it just isn't doing anything.

data1.cab is okay (564,525kb), the disc is not scratched or damaged.

copied entire cd to hd, same thing happened...

compatibility mode also does nothing...

anyone with a workaround for installing this?

sys specs that may actually matter:

Athlon XP 3000+
1gb ram
pioneer 8x dvdrw
running windows XP sp2

Can you try it on a different computer and see if you still have problems. Plus have you tried shutting down everything else like anti-virus software etc?

Yes, installs fine on my parents computer i built...
i dont see why it does, slightly lower system specs than this running windows XP home...

i'll try restarting and shutting down everything running in the background and try again on this one...

okay awesome!
killing most all the background running processes worked.
dunno which did it, but hey at least i can play again! hehe.
