Interaction with Fans - Something bothers me

Somethings really been getting to me as of late, though i'm not sure if it should or not. What it is, is that maybe JE is being to interactive with the fans.

While its good that the fans have some say on the game, it looks as if the game is being designed by us. Perhaps you guys feel this is a good thing but I feel it to be a horrid thing. If we have input on all aspects of the game, will we be able to play any part of the game and say "Wow, this is totally cool! I never would have imagined them doing X with Y!"

Perhaps I'm taking things a little to far but I dont know, I just feel like they should develop the game and we should buy the game :).

And before I get slammed for it, I KNOW I can just stay away from the boards then and be surprised then :). But hell, you think I'm gonna do that? Lol. :P

JE's been like that on IWDII and Jefferson, I think its just how he works. I wouldn't worry too much about the fans designing the game though, if JE thinks something won't work or doesn't like an idea he'll never use it no matter how much everyone else thinks it should be in the game [anyone remember the Point Buy vs Rolling for IWDII?].

Of course a lot of this is implementation, and if FO3 is done well, good story and such, I'm hoping I won't be thinking too much about specific implementation stuff when the game comes out.

This bothered me a lot at first too. I don't think about it too much now because I think he's basically looking for criticism that he hadn't thought of himself, which is why he rails against pure complaining from the fans without any reasons given for the complaint. We're kind of like ready-made devil's advocates. He probably won't do anything to the game that he thinks is a bad idea, no matter how many fans pressure him for it, and I don't think we'll convince him to change anything he has his heart set on. This way though, we at least get at lot more to think and talk about along the way
