Is there a way to find out what sites someone has been to using my computer, even if that person has deleted all the cookies, cache,...? I'm using Firefox on a Windows XP Home computer.

The short answer is No.

The long answer involves perputual motion, time travel and a Vietnamese hooker named Bob.

Damn it. Well, is there any program that can monitor Internet activities, so I can know what sites have been visited?

You could install a keyboard logger or similar trojans.

Or you could use a proxy with a cache.

But retroactively? Nah.

You could go all Jack Bauer and run around town torturing people into fessing up who messed with your PC and shoot bad guys and yell "DAMNIT!" all the time...

You could ask the CIA if they want to make a travel to Poland or Cuba with your mate and show him ... ahh, the wonderful country ;-)

The Jack Bauer thing seems tempting, as I've always wanted to torture Brits with a desklamp in front of their wives whom I am having sex with, but it's not important that I do it retroactively, it's just that every time a certain person uses my PC, cookies and such are deleted afterwards. What's that keyboard logger thing?

You can try using some parental control/ spying software. Using a keylogging trojan horse might be dangerous.
I don't know if there is any freeware that does what you need, but you might want to check out a trial of NetSpy, SpyEX or something.

A keyboard logger is a program that saves everything you type on your keyboard (inlcuding logins and passwords)

Yes, but if it saves it in a directory only I know of, and that I can delete at will, there's no real risk. The only risk if I see it is if the program sends the log back to the developer.

That's right so when you look for software like that check trusted sites like tucows and always remember to have your firewall on ;)

A keyboard logger is exactly that.

In practice you wouldn't use a trojan, but a third party program, obviously. Nobody would be THAT stupid.

Ok. Any links? I don't want to think I've found a good program, that turns out to be a virus or spyware.

Might I ask what prompts this? If you value your relationship with this person, I suggest that you employ absolutely no underhanded tactics. If it's your Significant Other, expect to be out on your ear if you're caught. Trust me, I know from experience.

I won't be caught. Trust me, I know from experience. I'm used to using subterfuge and deception to achieve my goals, sadly enough.
