INVALID PAGE FAULT? - Morrowind

First time out of the vault
Bought Morrowind a few days ago, it installs fine but when I try to run the game or the editor I get an error message with the details -
Invalid page fault at ...(a load of numerical data)... on MORROWIND.EXE or something like that anyway.
Anybody know whats wrong? - and what I need to do to solve it? Help? Advice?
Even more frustrating because I've been waiting for years to get the bloody game!
 
You might get a better answer to your question here, because I don't think there's much Morrowind fans here...
 
I've never gotten that error before - the only thing I can recommend is that you try reinstalling it.
 
Definitely check a site associated with Morrowind, either the official site or a fansite. I doubt anyone here has the answers you need. It's a problem, hope you get it worked out.

When I bought Morrowind, I couldn't even install it. I believe the CD was defective, though it gave me a cryptic error message telling me to contact Pete Hines with my mailing address. So I did... need to ask him about that someday. Bethesda did mail me a new Morrowind CD though, without any hassle from me, so that all worked out nicely.
 
Yeah, I'm waiting for a reply from the Morrowind Technical Support people so hopefully...
I see this error message in all sorts of progs, a week ago I formatted my hard drive and re-installed everything but I kept getting that same error when I tried to run FUCK although it worked before... goddamn!
Really hope I can sort it, Morrowind has to be THE best rpg, just because of the sheer level of interactability... I mean, stealing a SPOON?

Now now, don't forget all the quests in which which you Fed-Ex two spoons and a fork to somebody's next door neighbor so he'll declare you Master of the Universe.

Hey, at least he's original, we don't get much of that around here.
