Inverted Color Problem (Fallout 2)

I am running Fallout 2 on Windows Vista and am encountering an annoying problem. Every couples seconds or so, the colors of pretty much everything will invert. During gameplay, the actual playfield will not invert, but all the menus, etc. will. This is especially hard when trying to make a character.

If I try minimizing it and coming back, its fixed.. only for a second.

Any ideas?

I've encountered the same problem. I'm running Vista Home Premium. Though it occurs only every couple of mins, it's annoying as hell.

Have a look at this.
That fixes it for me, but unfortunately everyone can't set it to dx9 mode.
Before I did that I noticed that closing any open browser windows or other stuff running in the background helped.
