The investors over at Raging Bull forums are still hoping that IPLY pulls through, here's what frymuchan said:
Luke Haase emailed me back and said that work is continuing with Interplay trying to get financing and take care of their short term problems. I get encouraged just hearing back from Luke as it shows me he is still employed by Interplay and interested in trying to communicate with investors.

My thoughts are that Interplay has figured out how to avoid all financial responsibilities right now while they go on a sales binge of intellectual properties. they might be trying to get enough money generated to convince a bank to lend them money or to convince another party to invest with them in a Fallout MMORPG. MMORPG's are expensive undertakings. I'd like to see Interplay share in the risk with another, more wealthy party. There's no way Interplay could take on that kind of capital intensive project all on their own.
Right, he also posted that Gameinformer said rumours are going around about IPLY selling Earthworm Jim and Redneck Racing to the highest bidder.

They're really slow to pick up on trends. First they neglect the console market while it's booming. Then they suddenly decide that they want to ignore the PC and focus on the consoles and create a spectacularly crappy game for it.
And now they want to do a MMORPG, not realising that the market for MMORPGs has basically crashed, there's not much room for more. *shakes head*

Ok besheda gona make fallout with magic and sword and interplay gona make an MMO  Were doomed, dooooooomed i tell you.

the mmorpg thing im sure was a hoax to keep investors.and i know derek sm,art wants to buy the freespace license. NOOOO

considering Derek Smart makes a living on making games, i doubt he would have enough money to buy the license and make the game(in less than 15 years i say). and it would suck of course.

Heh, I guess the guys at interplay consider getting hit by a truck a "short term problem", seeing as it happens over only a fraction of a second.

The funny thing is, they can't stop doing dumb stuff... If they couldn't make a buck using their licenses, how do they think they'll fare after they sell all of them? Sure, it can keep the company afloat awhile longer, but i doubt they can get enough to finance FOOL (wich is such a stupid idea i reffuse to comment further).

Still, i hope someone good get's earthworm jim, probably one of the best platformer "worlds" in my opinion.

Aye, I read that comment in my GameInformer issue. It's a retchid little magazine that attacks the GameCube way too much. And the news bit didn't get too detailed.

I'm curious though... would anyone be interested in those franchises? They don't seem to carry much name now and I don't know if they ever did. The only way I could see them ever being sold is if they came in a package with better franchises.

Well EarthWorm Jim was released in tons of gaming systems, even handhelds, if i remember correctly, so it must have some hability to lure interested parties, but i`m not even sure of that.

Y'all know those dunk tanks at state fairs, where someone gets on the platform and people throw balls at a target, and if they hit it the person sitting on the platform gets dunked ?

I wouldn't mind seeing a new Earthworm Jim....I still play the old ones on my Genesis. I seem to recall one coming out on the PS1 a long long time ago, and I recall it totally blew ass. But I think if it went the same route as ToeJam & Earl III it might be good. I like the XBOX version of ToeJam & Earl, myself.

I know Interplay was working on Earthworm Jim 4. They had a storyline, concept art, and were working on a 3D engine.

It got put on hold, indefinitely, and most of the team shifted over to Exaulted.

Too bad, it looked promising.

Well, Jump'n'Runs weren't exactly succssful on the pc lately. I guess it'd have made more sense developing it with a console focus.
Then again, what do I know? If a company actually had the balls to produce a good pc-focussed Jump'n'Run title, it might even turn out to be quite successful.
