Is it advisable to replay Fallout 2 before New Vegas?

Still Mildly Glowing
I know it wouldn't be mandatory in the slightest. However, to get the most out of things, should one load up and replay the originals again? I haven't played Fallout 2 past Redding since.. ohh.. 2000?

I've been thinking of repurchasing them (somebody pointed me towards that legit download link where you can purchase the 1/2/tactics bundle for $10 or something).. but am unsure whether I should hold off on New Vegas until I'm through.

In all honesty, no.

The references to the earlier game are so evident I don't think you need a refresher.

That being said: play Fallout 2.

I think that playing the trifecta all after another (FO1->FO2->FONV) would be pretty awesome. It's what I did, actually, just because of all the hype, and I feel like it enhanced my experience.

Of course, it's not necessary. At all. NV stands alone as a great game. But it's sort of like playing Fallout 1 before 2-- you can play one without the other, but playing them both successively gives you a nice sense of scale and time.
