Is it possible to beat the game with no teammates?

It's probably doable, if you use a sniper character with high stealth. Not having a medic might be annoying but with the amount of books you can find throughout the game it's probably not that big a deal. I never tried it myself though.

I am playing it with only my main character and though guy and indeed like a sniper with high sneak. At the Brotherhood bases I recruit others to heal me or fix the car and then dump them. It is not impossible and it gets easier because you level up faster.
Choosing perks is very important.
 
I've played with a 3-man squad through most of the game and recruited an occasional extra man with special skills for certain missions. Playing in toughguy mode would be a helluva challenge but it should be possible.
 
One man squat + though guy.

I've just finished the mission where you have to kill Gamorrin. I am level 13 now. Don't remember if that is quite normal. I've specialalized still in sneak, small guns and energy weapons. Repair is important too because you have to repair your vehicle when damaged in random encounters. Doctor is very important because you don't want to have to restart a mission when crippled or blinded.

Am as far now as the level where you first drive a tank. (the one where you have to save the reapers). Everything gets easier because of the massive level gain. I'm level 18 now.
Loner perk comes in quite good, every skill +10%
Shotgun is a must, on your own you get surrounded in encounters and the shotgun can deal with that.
Fast shot and bonus rate of fire are good too (but thats what I like).
 
Exp is not split up amongst team members. They all get the listed amount

Oh and I think it'd be easier in TG mode because of 2x exp. I can never go back from TG mode, the exp seems so piddly.
 
[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Jan-31-03 AT 10:59PM (GMT)[p]Myself , I like to aquire every little object in the game ( b'cause in tactics , there is no limit to the vehicle inventory , so generally in missions , ia got to the nuclear APC , mission whith a 5 men team , in support of just my main character , i mean somenthing like that , i harnessed , only big weapons and small and sneak , ( also with perks such as leader ) , and also , i chose a female character ( it gets easier in macomb , and some other missions ) but at the end , my main character is an frontal assault kind of character ( when i'm facing little opposition , in osceolla , except for the ones with .50 cal , the rest where child's play as i had a .50 cal , ( also , i have 225 .50 cal DU rouds :) ) and , generally robots if not with JackHammer , with solid rounds , then the .50 cal :) , and boy did it get messy for them ...

One of my characters is a sniper that up to the attack on junction city , didn't snipe mutch , it did everything else , and all point went to energy weapons , now is excellent , with a laser rifle :)

I also use a DeathClaw as soon as possible , b'cause they can carry a lot ...

I think it may be done , and u will get a super character , know how to find out , use a trainer and attack the calculator directly , with a super character of level .. say 23-24 on togh guy , but single , I think it looses any charm left in it ( besides waht it lost , due to the gameplay ... ).
