Is the best way to obtain weapons

I never kill gunshop owners. For one, most of the time the guns they sell aren't even on their body. Second, if you kill any owner of a store you run the risk of haveing the whole town attack you. Instead of killing, try sneaking then stealing all their stuff. That way, you get the items, you say on the town's good side, and you leave the vender alive so that later he'll have more item for you to steal :D

woot

True but kill the gunstore owner in new reno he randomly drops weaposn but always drops a mini gun and bozar sometimes. and the town dosent backfire.

Well in FO2, you can kill the guy who owns the New Reno Arms and steal the weapons, as they are on his body. And none of the town attacks you, well apart from a few of the owner's dogs around the back if you decide to go downstairs and get free upgrades from the guy down the bottom. (Can't remember his name).

Algernon.

There are better ways to obtain arms than killing gunstore owners. I won't tell you you shouldn't, it's a freeform game and you can do waht you please. But the gunstore owners can be useful later.

I could never resist the urge of planting explosives on Happy Harry in Vault City's courtyard. And the New Reno merchant is just asking for it...well the developers were anyway; way too good of an inconsequential setup. Now I wouldn't go killing the San Fran traders as they are the only ones that end up being useful for me but killing many of the others, particularly in the earlier levels is a very "efficient" way to get items you would normally have to pay for.

Now that I've beaten the game a few times though, next time I play I'll intentionally not kill them, just to mix up the experience a bit. It will also certainly make the game harder, something that it needs now that nothing really is a mystery for me anymore.

Anyway, play the games how you feel, again and again. It's fallout afterall.
