Is there a savegame archive for Fallout 2?

anachronism

First time out of the vault
Ok, so I've never played Fallout 2. My first exposure to the fallout world was FO3, and then I went back and played the first one and had a lot of fun.

I want to play the second, but I have already managed to make decisions I regret in Arroyo once and Klamath another (and have also managed to overwrite my saves both times), so I need to restart, again, and really don't want to run through the temple again.

Is there a savegame archive anywhere?

Eh, I don't see the point. Running through the temple takes about 1 minute if you've done it before and just skip the enemies. As for the areas you've already cleared - that's really just the very start of the game.

Plus, this very thing:
but I have already managed to make decisions I regret in Arroyo once and Klamath another
Is one of the charms of Fallout. C&C! That is assuming the "decisions" you made weren't just something silly like "kill half the town!!!".

No, there are no save game archives. There are just the 10 save slots in the game, which corresponds to 10 save folders on the hard drive. Overwrite one and the previous save folder is gone and replaced.

I would recommend that you start over. Make a "beginning" game save after you finish the Temple of Trials and don't overwrite it. That's what I always do.

P.S.: We're glad you discovered the original game and enjoyed it. The story is a classic!
