is there (hope) a turn-based 3rd person 1st person game?

It Wandered In From the Wastes
i'm probably false hoping now, but is there a decent 3rd person or 1st person turn based game which is also team based?

i know only wizardy 8 that does it well, but this setting doesn't let you glimpse at your characters beside thier portrait-hence no tactical strategy for locations.

i guess that's one of the best reasons to make a tactical turn-team based game an isometric one...but maybe someone made an exception and there is hope....?

either that or they (bethesada) are going to make it a 1 man campaign or eye of the beholder

You mean a game like Silent Storm?

Realms of Arkania is a crpg using 1st person in towns and dungeons and iso in combat.
I know a turnbased UT mod. Not too hot, that.

i'm going to order silent storm everyone says its good, so it probably is.

but silent storm isn't a little isometric, i mean you can see the battle grounds pretty good from your point of view, no?unlike a 1st/3rd person..

It's isometric with a movable camera - you can zoom in and out, rotate, adjust the angle, etc. You won't have a problem seeing the battlefield at all and it can make some turns quite cinematic - finding the perfect camera angle then shooting someone in the chest and watching them crash backwards through a window is pretty sweet.

Huh? Could you repeat that in English?

First of all it doesn't make sense to tell me that silent storm isn't isometric because I never said it was.
Secondly, I wasn't aware that 3rd person view must as a rule mean bad oversight although I am aware it's generally used for games with a closeup view of the player character.
But then the standards aren't too well defined.

Let's take isometric. Some people insist on using the term for a "similar" viewpoint in 3D although isometric view is 2D by definiton. I wouldn't mind personally, and it does make sense to compare a certain perspective used in 3D games to isometric view, as the difference is merely technical and hardly noticeable.
Nevertheless I wish people would stop misusing the term isometric just to avoid confusion.

No. I downloaed it aeons ago, and didn't like it so I don't even recall the exact name although I believe it was something creative like "Turnbased UT" or something. It was not a TC, it just made normal UT turnbased and it was awful. It just doesn't feel right. It's like being shackled or something.

It was a mod for the original UT too, I don't know about a UT2k4 version.

1.urp, that's what happens when i meant to say "is" but it came out "isn't"

2.i own finnaly( great dislection) the silent storm the angle thing is a little cumbersome but it rewarding in many ways, so calling it isometric *isn't* reflecting.

anyway, did anyone play soulbringer?

Here's some upcoming JA type squad based strategy on 3d engine. In screens it almost looks more like fps or tps, but it's not.

Edited:
Ah yes, I know, should've posted this in squad based tactical game's thred. My mistake.

Brigade E5 is based on an innovative system called SPM (Smart Pause Mode). It successfully blends together advantages of both real-time and turn-based games. One of the title's distinctive features is that it doesn't use action points typical for turn based tactical games. However each action takes various amounts of time depending on character's skill and attributes.
This is the part i don't like. It'll be very weird when i'll have to calculate, how much time my mercenary will take to shoot enemy, keeping in mind that maybe enemy has spoted my mercenary earlier and has already started to do 'fire' action. Ahh, craps, i hope they'll make out this crazy SP mode playable somehow... because the main idea is good... and many realistic firearms... *sig*
