First time out of the vault
By the famous guide written by Per Jorner, it says you can kill the robot with a critical hit to the head that does no damage. How could that happen ?Is this way to get RoboRocketLauncher true or not ?Or I missed something ?

If you ever wanted to have your very own Robo Rocket Launcher, you can. What you must do is kill the robot with a critical hit to the head that does no damage (try using Flares, or maybe punching; Better Criticals is a must). Because of a bug this means you get no combat xp, but neither does the bot purge its inventory of special items you aren't really supposed to get your hands on. Next you must knock an NPC unconscious on the same hex occupied by the rocketbot (make sure it's not Vic, Myron or Goris, since they will freak out if looted while unconscious - assuming you care, that is), access their inventory, and finally click an arrow to select the robot. You should now be looking at two purple boxes representing one Robo Rocket Launcher and up to 18 rounds of Robo Rocket Ammo (which are equivalent to Explosive Rockets). This weapon has a very modest ST requirement and takes only half as many AP to fire as a normal Rocket Launcher, but it doesn't do nearly as much damage.

The idea behind the tactic is that there are certain cases where critical hits are an instakill, no matter how much damage would normally be done. If you're a lucky character with better criticals, you may have a chance to one hit a robot-- even while doing zero damage otherwise. You may have seen a zero point critical yourself-- if you're playing a power armored character, there are a lot of enemies who can barely damage you and you ought to see something like "You were critically hit for zero points. The bruise will look nice and the scars will make good party talk," or something like that.

I would assume that what happens is this: there are two separate scripts in the program-- one to "kill" the enemy, and one to delete the non-player weapons once it's killed. The "kill" the enemy works with a zero point crit if you're lucky. But deleting the weapons probably checks whether you've actually hurt the NPC in the first place, so the weapons are not deleted because you never did any damage.

Once the robot is killed, though, you can't loot it directly so you have to kill or knock unconscious some other lootable NPC on the same hex and use the "multiple lootable NPC" arrows on the loot screen to scroll over to the robot. The same tactic if you want to loot some of the robots in the Sierra Army Depot.
