I can't stop playing Morrowind. I never wanted to buy it because I knew the inevitable result. What is that you might ask? To play it until I beat it. Impossible. The game is sooooo huge and deep. Does anyone else feel the same? I know most people have heard about it. I know guys who have been playing for 2 years. I wish I never started playing it sometimes. Im sure I'll get bored ....eventually.

I have played it. I find it to be one of the most disappointing games ever, completely undeserving of the Elder Scrolls name or RPG classification. The only redeeming features are graphics and sound, while setting, story, area design and game mechanics are contemptible. Morrowind is a glaring example of what a good RPG *shouldn't* be like.

Yes, once you get so powerful that nothing is hard anymore (and it's real easy to get that powerful), you'll get bored really quick.

Most of the criticisms directed at it are true but I loved it anyway, and have spent way too much time playing it. It's lacking in a lot of areas that great rpg's should be strong in and gets repetitive after awhile but I found enough in it to keep me interested. The one thing that really annoyed me was that the world was so huge and travel was so slow; I think a Gothic sized area is about as big as you should go for that type of game. If you can pick the expansions up cheap you should, especially before you end up playing it too much to enjoy them - they add a challenge for when your character is too powerful for the regular game.

I didnt really like morrowind that much, I played it straight forward (the way it was meant to be played) about 4 different times with different characters and they each only lasted about an hour. Once I got it figured out I got a perfect theif character and left the first city with more than 5,000$ I didnt go anywhere else besides that first location... once I had conquered that and developed the ability to jump onto roof tops the game became instantly boring and seemed overly tedious... Having no -REAL RPG- depth, but just endless amounts of more than likely computer generated and put together piles of bullshit... I burned the CD in holy glory...

Good luck with it though....

I only stopped playing after my character reached ridiculously high levels, the point where to get any more I had to go to prison and have my skills degrade so I could build them up again.

I was pretty much head of every single guild (except the thieves), and managed to possess every single major powerful weapon in the game. Just to see if I could, I slaughtered the entire population of Vivec with a silver dagger. No armour, rings, necklaces, pants, or spells. Once I got to that point, and had completed Tribunal and Bloodmoon, it got a bit boring. Hella fun while it lasted though.
