It is worth playing Fallout 3?

G-Man

First time out of the vault
I'm almost finishing my fifth run in New vegas and I'm thinking about playing Fallout 3.

New Vegas wasn't bad at all, though I still prefer the first two games, but I've heard, and read, very bad reviews about Fallout 3, especially of the fans of Fallout 1 and 2.

Is the game really that bad?.
The inconsistencies in the story regarding the previous games are so big?.
It is worth playing?.

It's worth playing just.....well. You having played 1,2, & NV first lets just say the inconsistencies, logical errors, plot holes, and so forth will be alot more glaring than someone who started with 3. Most important thing is to keep an open mind and have an active imagination to fill in the gaps because you will have to make up your own stories to get around the bad writing.

Seeing how you played NV before F3 i would suggest a few mods or certain gameplay issues would feel lacklusting. Besides that the game has a crappy story but the world is more fun IMO.

Seriously though, take screenshots/shit/video and make a thread out of it so we can all join in the ritual mockery

also i recommend drinking a lot of alchohol

Meh, Fallout 3 is worth it be played at least once. I started with 3, and I thought it was the greatest game ever, until I saw NV. Well, the least it did was give me a lot of good memories for my first introduction to 'adult' gaming, and it got me interested in Fallout.

Fallout 3 is a ride, in the way a Michael Bay movie is a fun action flick. Once you've played through it once or twice, you've seen it all, though.
