[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Jul-13-02 AT 11:54PM (GMT)[p]Okay, sorry if this issue has already been discussed somewhere else. Here is the problem I have FIME(Fallout Item Mode Editor) and FIC(Fallout Item Changer). In Fallout2, I decide to change sawed of shotgun into a super combat shotgun or whatever. I change every thing to my desire then save it and make it read only, then I send it to Fallout2/data/proto/items. Then the description of the item I edited changed back into the original description in the game only. So if i quit fallout then start my editor the description is back to what I changed it to. Is there a way I'm doing this wrong or is there something I don't know.

Yeah, you need to change the pro_items.msg file found in dialog/english/data (I think). Anyway, you need to put that file in the proper place (use datman light to find the proper place).

Making it read only is a good thing - keeps it alive (otherwise fo2 would obliterate it).

pro_item.msg goes in the fallout2/data/text/english/game (or was is main?) directory. There's only 3 directories in there so look around for the old one and simply replace it.

Did you know that in the data/data directory there's a .txt file called "maps.txt". You can use that to change the music in the game - I took some old music files from fallout1 (like for the glow, brotherhood, and :) "maybe" from the title) and made it to work. Changed music in some other places like the klamath rat caves that needed a different musical "fit" to them.
