Jagged Alliance 3 preview

I hope that SirTech will truly have control over what happens in the games rather than just "consulting".

I thought Sir-tech is gone, forever?

Don't mind if this 'sequel' has a 3D graphic (thought I'm kinda miss the sprite-era) as long as they keep in-tact the turn-based combat :)

The game's 3D graphics seem like they could definitely improve. The environments, though populated with plenty of appropriate objects like swaying palm trees on the beach and cluttered furniture inside the houses, have a rough feel to them that could benefit greatly from some antialiasing, more-detailed textures to bring out the lived-in feel that the game is clearly shooting for, and extensive lighting effects to help differentiate different parts of the environment and add atmosphere.
By looking at the pictures I see what he meant. Tough looks nice so far.

Isometric? Turn based? WTF this isn't next-gen!
After all, someone on the Bethesda forums told me that "no isometric games will ever be made again". It must be true. :drunk:

uhm :what: eh --

Turnbases, you say :?: Impossible. It isn't next-gen, my good man. Now move along. Nothing to see here!

Except maybe the sequel to a very great game which obviusly takes pride in looking a lot like Jagged Alliance 2. Great work and good luck to these Russian guys :)

edit:
Nice trailer, btw.
(can also be found on youtube).

I hope they will use some extra done pics/animations for the faces in the menu. I mean JA2 and JA1 had nices faces, and characters you could 'fell in love' with. But such 'ugly' faces, simply dosen't fit i think... :/
The rest seems to be pretty cool.

gotta tell my bro, this is interesting indeed.

This is certainly the best news I had for quite a while. I'll admit that when I first installed JA2, the graphics and the combat system put me off, since I couldn't make sense of it (no percentages to hit)...until I played Silent Storm. Now I'm discovering one damn fine game. The graphics are not too shabby and the combat system is genius. Sure it has its flaws but nothing fundamentally wrong.

The game has humor, violence and coherence. I'm currently preparing my 15 mercs taskforce to takeover Grumm (I'm currently on a slow phase since I picked up a bunch of newbie mercs (Shank (the Myron of JA2, he fucking sucks!), Dynamo and Maddog) whom I'll have to train to decent standards).

I hope that this is completed unlike previous attempts.

I'd like to meet the man who playd JA1 and DIDN'T hire Ivan. I fucking loved that guy.

I remember saving for days in game to finaly get enough money to hire "Pops". I was sooo excited. Then I gave him his first order to walk half way across a sector. 10 steps into it he stops and says "Sorry Sonny, I forgot where I was going".

I was laughing pretty hard as I fired him.

This looks amazing.

I love JA2, sadly never got to play 1, and I love SS.

Giving JA3 the SS-Engine is beyond awesome.

Although I found a flaw, that being that Scope was a blonde and not a redhead.

But other than that this really makes my day.
